Arulmighu Periyanayagi samedha Kailasanathar Thirukoil.---- NarthamPoondi.Sapthakailasha Temple.

The Temple was built by Sambuvarayar and King vallala maharaja 

nearly 1000 years before.it was maintained by Vijayanagar King.

This Temple is Situated 24 kilometers distance from Thiruvannamalai in a Village of NarthamPoondi on North Direction of Arunachala Hill.

where Lord Muruga was worshipped Lord Shiva for relief of his doshas{Some adverse aspects}.

This is one of the seven Kailasa temples was worshipped by Rishi Narada.

Mother Uma{Parvadhi} was going to Thiruvannamalai from Kanchipuram with the view of getting left part of Lord Shiva.She could like to do special Pooja to Lord Shiva at 

the Place of VazhaiPandal where she was Stayed and also searched a ShivaLingam for pooja.she could not get one.Devi Parvadhi decided to make one with sand and she 

could asked muruga to provide water to make the Lingam.Lord Muruga threw his vel towards the west and water came in red colour from the hills there.seven munis who 

were performing penance there were injured.Hence  the water was red with their blood.Meantime,due to the touch of murugas vel,They were relieved of his curses they 

were undergoing then,Mother Uma made the Linga and worshipped.

But Lord Muruga had to bear the sin of killing the seven munis.

Asdirected by Mother Uma ,Lord Muruga established seven temples on the northern bank of Cheyyar and Seven on the Southern bank of River.

Kancheepuram ,Kadaladi,Mambakkam,Madhimangalam,Elathur,Poondi and Kuruvimalai on the Northern bank were called Sapthakarai kanda 

sthalangal.ThamaraiPakkam,Vasudevanpattu,Narthampoondi,Thenpandaripattu,Pazhangovil,Karapoondi and Mandakulathur on the southern bank were called Sapthakailasas.

The Temple in Narthampoondi worshipped by Muni Naradha is the third in the line. This Temple is mentioned in skandha Mahapurana. King Dksha,Know for his enmity with 

Shiva, wanted to develop his three sons equal to him but Naradha imparted Shiva Upadhesha to the sons and made them good.Angry Daksha cuesed Naradha as he prevented 

his son to come his way. Muni Naradha Perfomed Penance for 12 years in Nartham Poondi on Sri Kailasanathar Temple.Lord Shiva appreared on his Vrushaba{Bull vehicle of 

Lord Shiva } with his Panchamurtis and relieved Naradha of his Curse. Naradha was elevated as the head of the Rishis.
